How to choose the pneumatic actuator

The pneumatic actuator is often installed on the valve as an actuator, the ball valve with the pneumatic execution is called the pneumatic ball valve, and the butterfly valve with the pneumatic actuator is called the pneumatic butterfly valve. So that its work efficiency is greatly improved, then how can we carry out the correct selection of pneumatic actuators?

According to industry insiders, the following aspects must be considered in the selection of pneumatic actuators:

1. Air source pressure or power supply voltage of the actuator;

2, the operating torque of the valve plus the safety factor recommended by the manufacturer/according to the operating condition;

3, the type of pneumatic actuator double action or single action (spring return) and the output torque under a certain air source or output torque under rated voltage;

4, its steering and fault mode (fault on or fault off) correct selection of an actuator is very important, such as the actuator is too large, the valve stem may be too stressed. On the contrary, if the actuator is too small, the side cannot generate enough torque to fully operate the valve. The torque required to operate the valve comes from friction between the metal parts of the valve and the seals. According to the valve use occasion, use temperature, operating frequency, pipe and pressure difference, flow medium (lubrication, drying, mud), many factors affect the operating torque.
