The working principle and classification of switches

The limit switch is an electrical switch that limits the motion limit position of the mechanical equipment. It can be divided into two main types, contact and non-contact. The contact switch is more intuitive, and the upper stroke switch is installed on the moving parts of the mechanical equipment. A stop is installed in the limit position with respect to the fixed point of relative motion, or in the opposite position. When the mechanical contact of the travel switch touches the stop block, it will cut off or control the circuit, so that the machine will stop running or change the operation. But the machine has inertial motion, so this travel has a certain "overtravel" to protect the switch from wear. There are various forms of non-contact switch, common photoelectric type, induction type and so on. In general, these forms are often seen in elevators, and there are more advanced forms.
